Bob Vila

Bob Vila has spent his career helping people upgrade their homes and improve their lives. Widely acknowledged as the originator of reality TV, he was the original host of This Old House and went on to host a variety of other home renovation series including Bob Vila's Home Again, Bob Vila, and Restore America with Bob Vila.

Before This Old House, Bob ran his own home remodeling and design business. Prior to that, he spent time building houses in Panama as a Peace Corps volunteer. He learned first-hand about home renovation from his father, who hand-built their family home in Miami, FL. He’s written 12 books about home repair, home remodeling, buying your dream home, and visiting historic homes across America.

Now Bob is fully focused on the digital world with more than 1.1 Million Twitter followers @BobVila and a fast-growing website, BobVila.com. Patrick O'Toole

Patrick O'Toole is editorial director and publisher of Professional Builder, Professional Remodeler and HousingZone.com. He's been an editor serving the housing industry since 1995, including seven years as editor of Qualified Remodeler. Mr. O'Toole holds a masters degree in journalism and began his career as a news reporter for the Associated Press in Chicago.

JoAnne (JoJo) Liebeler

One word sums up JoAnne Liebeler’s career: television. A nationally recognized expert on home improvement, she has hosted four television series in the home improvement and design genre. As a Producer and Project Manager, she has served as on Executive Producer on a Travel Channel series, developed and pitched television shows, produced and written programs, and managed dozens of video projects. Her credits include History Channel, TLC, HGTV, PBS, DIY, Fox and Travel Channel.

Her home improvement expertise was tapped by Sunset Books recently when she was invited to author JoAnne Liebeler’s Do-it-Herself, and contributed to Big Ideas for Small Spaces.

Although recognized for her expertise in the home building industry, Liebeler has a passion for comedy. Each year she directs and partially writes comedic material for one of Minneapolis Saint Paul’s most popular revues, “Minn Roast,” featuring the state’s leading journalists and politicians. While living in Los Angeles, she was the only female writer on a syndicated sketch comedy series called The Newz. She has performed in improvisational comedy troupes in both Los Angeles, CA and Minneapolis, MN and has had comedic roles in sitcoms and feature films.

Liebeler is committed to service work and currently volunteers for Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners and has served as the Communications Co-chair for church. She also serves on the Board of Directors for NCHH (National Center for Healthy Housing) and is the Treasurer for Minnesota Women in Film & Television (MN WIFT).

Shawn McCadden

Shawn McCadden is a nationally-known speaker, business trainer, columnist and award-winning remodeler. As a Certified Remodeler, Certified Lead Carpenter, and RRP Certified Renovator Instructor McCadden has more than 30 years of personal experience in the remodeling and new home construction industries. He was the owner of his own multi-million-dollar design/build remodeling business, Custom Contracting, Inc., in Arlington, Massachusetts until he sold that business in May 2004; was the co-founder of the Residential Design/Build Institute, which trained best business practices to remodelers and contractors across the nation; and served as Director of Business Innovations for a nationally known kitchen and bath franchise.

Today, Shawn offers business consulting and coaching services for aspiring remodeling business owners who want more for and from their businesses and their lives. He also consults with construction-related product manufacturers and suppliers, helping them understand, find, educate and better serve remodelers. Shawn is one of the remodeling industry’s leading experts on the EPA RRP Rule and is a National Center for Healthy Housing Accredited EPA RRP Instructor as well as a Massachusetts Recognized RRP Instructor. As a professional speaker, he offers an impressive array of motivational, instructional and keynote presentations. Shawn is also available to facilitate meetings and focus groups for businesses and other entities.

Shawn has received many industry awards including the National Association of the Remodeling Industry’s (NARI) Harold Hammerman Spirit of Education Award, several NARI CotY Awards, Remodeling Magazine’s BIG50, QR Magazines Top 500, and several awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) for his magazine columns.

An active member of NARI for almost 20 years, McCadden has served as a NARI National Regional Vice President, a Massachusetts local NARI Board Representative and has been a long-time member of the NARI Certification Board. He writes an award winning monthly column for Remodeling Magazine and speaks at association meetings, industry trade shows and conventions throughout the year. McCadden makes his home in Massachusetts with his wife and two daughters.

Christine Marvin

Christine Marvin is the director of marketing for Marvin Windows and Doors and is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of the Marvin brand product, pricing, and marketing strategies. With an undergraduate degree from Macalester College and an MBA from the University of Denver, Christine is the fourth generation of Marvins to work for the family-owned and operated made-to-order window and door company.

Christine currently resides in the Twin Cities with her husband and enjoys spending time with her family, participating in triathlons and fishing on Lake of the Woods near Warroad, MN where she grew up.
